Mobile Legends Argus
According to the background story in the game, Argus is one of the two heavenly angels. However his lust for power corrupted him and he became lost in evil. Evil or not, Argus is a really powerful hero in mobile legends! But what is the best way to play him well? Read on to find out!
Argus Best Item Build
After exploring different item builds, I believe that the above is the best build for Argus. The sequence as to which items to get first, begins from left to right. So Swift Boots should be obtained first followed by Scarlet Phantom and so on.
+15% of Attack Speed
+40 Movement Speed
Swift boots should be the first item for Argus. This gives him decent base movement speed early in the game, for him to chase or take flight when Demonic Grip is on cooldown.
The 15% increase in Attack Speed also enables Argus to charge his passive Warmonger more rapidly. This will allow an overall higher damage being dealt to enemies.
+30 Physical Attack
+40% Attack Speed
+10% Critical Strike Rate
Critical Strikes will increase Argus's Attack Speed and Critical Strike Rate by 35% and 5% respectively, lasting for 2 seconds.
The main purpose of Scarlet Phantom is leverage on extreme high Attack Speed. Based on Argus's passive, the faster he can attack, the faster the passive gauge will be charged. This means higher overall damage output dealt to enemies within a fixed duration.
To be more specific, since Argus will unleash 2 extra strikes of Basic Attack upon a fully charged passive gauge, higher Attack Speed will equate to more extra strikes. Don't forget that his passive will also enhance his Attack Speed even more as his health drops.
Imagine activating Argus's Ultimate: Eternal Evil on zero health; Insane Attack Speed translated into Insane overall damage output!
+70 Physical Attack
When HP drops below 40%, Argus will receive an extra 10% physical lifesteal.
Blade of Despair
+130 Physical Attack
+25% Attack Speed
+10% Critical Strike Chance
Deals additional 10% of damage to enemies in any abnormal state (stunned, knocked airborne, transformed and disabled).
+40 Magic Resistance
Resurrect 2 seconds after dying and get 15% HP with a shield that can absorb 300 - 1000 points of damage. Shield lasts for 3 seconds and the cooldown for resurrection is 3 minutes.
The addition of Lifesteal enables Argus to stay longer in the field. Longer time in the field means greater farming and mobility to provide assistance during team clashes.
It also makes the difference in 1-to-1 battles when it comes to survival and winning the duel! Particularly, when Argus's Ultimate: Eternal Evil is on cooldown.
Haas's Claws is preferred over Endless Battle due to the main reason that Argus does not need mana. As such, Haas's Claws is sufficient.
This is the most expensive Attack item in the game currently, and can be crudely translated as the best Physical Attack item.
Notice the increase in Attack Speed too? Yes, Argus's passive skill is further optimised!
In short, it transforms Argus into a beast killing machine!
This item will be on the last slot and is optional. If you prefer to have some insurance, having this would be good. If not, a more offensive build is preferred since Argus already possesses Immortality in a way via his Ultimate: Eternal Evil.
If you notice, this build revolves around Attack Speed. High Attack Speed complements Argus's passive really well. The video below reinforces the idea of this guide so do take a look to get a better understanding 🙂
Argus Tips & Strategy
Before Argus enters into a match, I recommend the Jungle Emblem Set and the Battle Spell, Inspire for him. Main reason for Jungle Emblem Set is to provide him with more decent base Attack Speed. Battle Spell: Inspire gives even more Attack Speed!
When the match has started, use Demonic Grip to quickly reach the bush area to hide in preparation for an ambush. The moment enemy heroes are within range, use Demonic Grip and surprise them, dealing some damage before moving back to a safe distance.
As far as possible, get Argus health low when farming so as to farm faster. That is because his Attack Speed increases as his health decreases. But do exercise caution when doing so in case of ambush. So do be prepared to either take flight or fight in Ultimate: Eternal Evil mode.
Argus can initiate any clashes with his Demonic Grip. Soak up some damage before activating Ultimate: Eternal Evil mode. With enough practice, you will know when is the right time to do so.
If done correctly, Argus is almost impossible to kill, leaving enemies frustrated. However, seasoned players will know when not to hit Argus. So be mindful of the 5 seconds of immortality given by his ultimate.
Hopefully this has been a decent Mobile Legend Argus Guide and has helped you get a better idea on how to play Argus most effectively!
